The city of Surat is situated on the bank of river Tapi in the West Indian state of Gujarat. Surat is at a distance of 230 km from Ahmedabad, 256 km from Mumbai, and 129 km from Vadodara.Referred as a city of Silk and Diamond, Surat is as an important commercial hub of Gujarat. Surat has a major gem industry and around 90% of the world's diamonds are cut here.
